Rediscovering Womanhood: Embracing who you were created you to be.

Womanhood is a journey, not a destination. It is not defined by a title, relationship status, career, or the number of responsibilities we carry. As a wife, mother, student, business owner, and community advocate, my days are filled with responsibilities. In the past I spent so much time taking care of everyone else that I rarely stopped to ask myself a simple question:

Who am I outside of all the roles I carry?

The truth is, many women find themselves asking this very same question. Somewhere between caring for our families, oursuing our goals, and managing demands of daily life, we can lose sight of the woman behind the responsibilities. Honestly, my journey has taught me that womanhood is about who we are, who we are becoming, and the our God given purpose in life. True womanhood begins with understanding who we are at our core, and when we understand this truth, we stop chasing validation and begin living with confidence.

The Pressure Women Face

As women we are expected to excel in our careers, maintain healthy relationships, care for our families, pursue personal growth, and somehow still find time for ourselves.

The pressure to "do it all" was my reality. However, it left me feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, exhausted, and recentful. I often found myself asking, "How can I show up for everyone else without losing myself in the process?"

To my surprise, the answer wasn't perfection. It was learning to return to my identity and remembering that my worth is not found in my performance.

Making Space for Yourself

Throughout the years I have learned that one of the greatest acts of self-respect is making space for your own growth and well-being.

Now, this may look different for every woman. For some, it means seeking counseling, pursuing a hobby, spending time with friends, exercising, reading a book, or simply resting. Honestly, I try to practice all of the self-care options stated here, rotating between each as I find adequate.

Taking care of yourself is not selfish. It is necessary woman!

When we take the time to care for ourselves emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually, we are better equipped to care for those around us.

Conclusion

Womanhood is about embracing the woman you were created to be. Acknowledging the woman you were, loving the woman you are now and excited for the woman your are to become.

You do not have to have everything figured out.

You do not have to carry every burden alone.

You do not have to meet every expectation placed upon you.

Give yourself grace. Continue growing. Continue learning. Continue becoming.

Womanhood is was not intended for perfection, rather it is about living with purpose, authenticity, and faith every step of the way.
